18 month pictures

We have been so crazy busy that this little guy didn't get 18 month pictures until he was almost 19 months but it was worth the wait with all the great smiles that we got! He really hammed it up and had so much fun. We tried out a new photographer in Bloomfield...
Check her out at www.lvmphotography.com
Enjoy all of the pictures-I posted so many because I just can't pick! Michael is concerned were I am going to be putting all of the ones that I want to get printed!

This is one of our favorites. Finnean was a little uneasy at the beginning so he had his cookies. I think that is why we got all the smiles, he ate the whole box!

O my, the innocence of this one just melts my heart.

Belly Laugh...priceless.

Finnean has Dance Fever!

Finnean had a great love of music. He is working on his strumming on Dad's guitar, he gets mad when I touch the guitar and says "DADDY!" So only Daddy shows him how to strum. He can "snap" his fingers and you can see him working on that in this video. He loves fast music and can really get his head a bopping. Jack Johnson is still his sleepy time music but we are working on exposing him to all kinds of music. His favorites are Big Bad Voo Doo Daddy and Brian Setzer. Michael showed him a video on our computer the other day and he just sat in awe watching him rock out on the guitar. When you sit down on the computer he says "up" because he thinks you are going to play a video on the computer and cries if you don't get some music going. I hope that he gets Michael's musical skills and not mine :)

Duck Kissing and Dizziness

This is a couple random videos of Finnean being crazy silly. Notice the duck's kissing sound and how many times "whoa" is said during the run-around...

Date Night

Finnean and I had a date at IHOP tonight. He LOVES IHOP! It is so funny how happy he is when we are there. I need to record the next time we go AND kids eat free on Monday night! Whooo! Enjoy the pictures from our beautiful evening outside.
*****
Eeek! I think he was really excited about something...Jerry I am guessing!

One of Finnean's fav things in the whole world. Dad and Finnean watch the trash truck every Monday but not too close. Finnean is scared if they don't watch from the garage!

Trying the chalk! YUCK!
Thankfully he didn't like it but it stuck to the end of his little tongue.

Checking out his work. I think more chalk ends up on him than the sidewalk but he loves to play with "chalk!"

Laughing at something. Who knows what?!

Our watchdog, Jerrrrry.

Best Friends!

Love this one. He is so messy!

A bike!
"Bike" is one of Finnean's fav new words. Motorcycles are also bikes in Finnean's book.

2nd hair cut!
This one did not go as well as the first!!! He cried through the whole thing and he was so sad that we couldn't even bribe him with a sucker like we did the last time! He looked pretty sharp with his big boy hair cut!
Silly boy...looking good!

I love this one. He looks like he is posing for his new haircut picture!

YUM! On one of our trips back to Bloomfield we stopped in Pella to get some YUMMY cookies! Finnean loved his puppy cookie!

Woof! Woof!

The other night Michael took forever to put Finnean to bed, which is unusual so I went to check on them and this is what I found...the sweetest Dad and Finnean moment!

Finnean and Cousin Carter swinging at Uncle Bob's in Bloomfield.

Having fun on the swing for the first time. He is usually scared and wants out after one push :)

Watching Carter.
This is Finnean's favorite new thing to do. He loves to watch Carter and copy everything he does. We have been telling Carter he has to be a good boy!!!

Spiderman Spiderman...he can do everything a Spiderman can do!
Finnean turned into Spiderman and he could run fast!!! As you can see he loved the outfit! Thanks Lori(we found it at her garage sale)!! We are working on building our dress up outfits!
Look at these sleepy boys. This was on Father's Day. Jerry was just as tired as Finnean and Dad! We spent Father's day morning in Bloomfield and went to lunch. Then we headed back to Ankeny to relax together. Michael and Finnean were both asleep by 6 so I got relax :)

Finnean getting ready to go back to Grandmas!!!

flower update!

The flowers are blooming!! They are looking great and thanks to Michael they are staying watered! :)

Flowers!

Michael called on Monday and asked if I wanted 3 flats of flowers. I said sure! Our daycare lady was sick that day so I was home with Finnean and it worked out perfect. We headed to Target to get some pots and soil...here are a few pictures from our adventures.
Before...

Helping Mommy pick out the perfect flowers for each pot. If you notice his little hand in the little black pot...he was putting little glass beads in that pot. He took each one (probably over 100 of them) from the blue pot and put it in the other. It kept him busy while I planted!!

Getting dirty.

Busy sorting the rocks.

I love this one. He really doesn't look too happy but I don't remember him complaining!

After!
The finished product AND I have two flats of flowers left. I need to get a little more soil!!!

This is a picture that we took on the way home from Bloomfield last weekend. We thought the sweeping clouds looked like rain. It was a beautiful site after an emotional visit for us in Bloomfield. We continue to make many trips to Bloomfield and to Hospice to see my mom. In my last update we thought that she had more time to live, that has turned out to not be the case. All of your thoughts and prayers help...keep praying for her to be peaceful. That is what we need right now.

random pictures!

Finnean loves to help cook! This is him "helping"

Veggies!!!
6.10.10
I can't remember if I mentioned but we went in on a share of farm with some of our friends. It is called Community Supported Agriculture or CSA. Basically we have someone else do our gardening and grow us organic fruits and vegetables and we pay them for it. We pick up our "basket" each Thursday and then split it up and then figure out how we are going to cook up our fresh produce! It is an adventure because you are just not sure what you are going to get but it should be fun. This is a photo of Finnean checking out what we got. He took each piece out and Michael told him what it was. He was so excited for each new thing. That is the goal...get him pumped about vegetables and to eat for the season. This same night I made a new dish full of our fresh veggies and I asked Finnean if he liked it. He shook his head yes and said "Mmmmm-humm!" Which made me feel like the best Mommy in the whole world! He liked my new dish!

Grandpa Steve came up to visit and Finnean LOVED showing him all of his toys!

Cool Dude!

Looking so big after playing hard at the Science Center. Finnean and I had a great time exploring.
5.13.10

Maybe it is just this outfit! He looks old!!!

Eating lunch and people watching.

Old Pictures...

First skinned knee :(
4.29.10
Finnean wasn't a big fan of this big event but he has got a few more since then...most recently a HUGE one last night. He doesn't hardly cry if I don't say anything :)
All of these pictures were taken on 4.28.10. I remember it being a beautiful sunny day and we got dirty!

Chalk Tattoo

I think he could be a little spokesbaby for Rose Art. Look at those chubby little feet!!

This was his first time with side walk chalk and LOVED it! he didn't even mind getting dirty!

Of course he didn't want to play with just one piece, so we got them all out. He did help put them away so that is a good thing!
As you can see they didn't go back in the container as neat as they came out :)

A few Finnean stories...

Tonight we were eating supper and this is what happened...
Finnean: Apple?
Me: Sorry buddy we don't have any apples, you want some watermelon?
Finnean: Apple?
Me: We don't have any apples, we can eat some other fruit.
***I went to the fridge and got out some pineapple to see if that would work...
Finnean: APPLE!
Me: Finnean do you love pineapple??
Finnean: I wuv apple!
***I apparently was not on the same page as he was! He wanted pineapple the whole time.

He can officially take off his clothes. the other night he was helping get ready for the bath and he took off his shirt and shorts!! I doesn't know how to take off his diaper yet...which might be a good thing!

He says "Beep Beeep!" and has to be one of the cutest things ever!

He gives Kisses and says MWA!

I put him to bed last night and he said "blanket" and then "dog" both things he sleeps with now. Just about melts my heart with all this new words. It is just so weird to hear his little tiny voice!
