COOKIES!!!

So excited to get baking!

Kitchen towel = perfect apron.

Dumping.

A little washed out but too cute!

Even our ingredients were happy!

A few more scoops.

Woo hooo...going in the oven!!

Having a few craisins while we wait for them to bake.

YUM! YUM!
Oatmeal Craisin Cookies!

So happy!! We had a blast baking together and the cookies actually turned out :)

Finnean LOVES to pretend to eat and drink. This is him getting a drink of "wader." It sounds like water just with a D sounds instead :)

Silly boy and the oven mits!!!

Finnean has been working on his "chopping" and he likes to try to chop his own food. Watermelon is the easiest to chop!

I just love this sweet little face!

Bloomfield Trip

We had to break out the sweat pants for the crisp weather...we loved it!

Finnean found a remote control car that he thought was pretty cool! He had fun chasing it all around the patio.

Finnean helping clean up the dirt from the flowers.

Finnean and Grandma getting the car to go fast!

Michael played guitar and sang at our friend's wedding so we had the chance to hang out together a lot this weekend. It is weird when Finnean isn't with us but still have a great time and love built in date-nights :)

Finnean and I went for a walk on Saturday morning and this is a funny face from a stop we made and then we hit up the farmer's market in Bloomfield.

Being silly in his sweats...they make him look so old!

Doing a little window shopping...

Michael looking sharp...getting ready to play at the wedding! It was his voice and his amazing talent that I fell in love with long ago...

My date.

Grandma and Poppa Wagler played with Finnean while we did all of the wedding stuff and then they brought him to the wedding reception to hang out with us for a while. It worked out perfect and we are grateful for Grandma and Poppa!

Finnean loves bread or "sandwich" as he calls it :) In his eyes all bread is a sandwich or toast.

Family.

and again :)

On Sunday morning we headed to the park to play with Grandpa Steve (and that is what Finnean calls him and it is so cute!). Finnean had a blast playing on the slide!

Run! Run! Run!

Look at all that hair! He even got a trim from me the other day to keep it out of his eyes and off the back of his neck! We love his messy, hippy hair.

Look at me Mommy!

Beep! Beep!!
Finnean loves school buses. It is one of the highlights of our stay at home days, when the neighborhood kids get off the school bus!

He was too short to drive it...so he thought he would just ride backwards!

This is Finnean playing "soccer." He loves kicking the ball and is getting more coordinated everyday!!

First week as a STAY AT HOME MOM!

Last week I had the whole week off before starting back to work later this week. We visited a friend in Ames and looked for Cy-Rides, we stopped by Marcia's to play and wish her a happy birthday and then headed downtown to visit Daddy. We played at home and kept the house clean...we even cooked yummy suppers!!! We really enjoyed our snuggles and looking forward to so many more...I love that nap time snuggle!!!
*****
Finnean has a new use for his stacking rings...bracelets! I am pretty sure he picked this up from Grady at daycare.

So serious!

The pile on the left is the laundry that needed to be folded and the pile on the right is the laundry that has been "folded" by Finnean. To the untrained eye both piles might look the same but he was working very hard to "fold" the towels for me!

Cookies!
Finnean and I headed downtown on Wednesday of last week to ride the free trolley that makes a loop of downtown and meet Daddy for lunch. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and had a picnic! We love being at home!!!

Again with the silly smile!!!

Our little friend, the "mouse" as Finnean called it. By the end of the lunch he kind of called it a squirrel...squirrel is a hard word to say!! We watched him eat, play and jump around...Finnean loved him!

This is Finnean giggling at the "mouse."

One of the many faces from the day.

Another silly face...

I can't get over how old he looks here. I know he is almost two but wow! He looks like he could be a trainer for the Green Bay Packers!

"Hello?" He LOVES to talk on the phone.

Catch Up...

A few pictures from last weekend that I didn't get posted...
This is little Finnean sleeping on his mattress at the foot of our bed when we was sick. Thank goodness he is feeling back to normal!

Finnean and Dad came to watch me play mud volleyball last weekend. Finnean found a good place to sit in the shade and kick back with Dad!

He did a great job drinking out of the water bottle. Usually he spills :)

Silly face! I think this is just the first of many pictures with a silly face from Finnean. When you look at Michael's pictures from when he was little he often had a silly smile. Just another reason that Finnean is like his Daddy!

This is proof that the mom that hates germs and hates having her hands dirty played mud volleyball! Finnean didn't know who I was because of all of the mud! It was a lot of fun but I am not sure that it is the sport for me...it is a lot of fun while you are playing but all of that mud after you get home is just no fun!

Food

Finnean has LOVED eating in the past but that has changed over the past few days. We think his teeth are hurting or he is not used to eating lunch with me. Last night dinner was full of tears for no reason at all...so we are hoping that improves soon, as this little boy is way to little to not eat! I have noticed a few cute things about his eating habits...
  • He is slower than molasses when it comes to eating. He just likes to take his time and that can be a long time!
  • He loves bananas! This morning he told me "MONKEY!" when I gave him a banana-very smart that little boy!
  • He is aware that food is "HOT!" He will turn his plate so it is very close to his face and blow on his food to cool it down. Then he touches it with his finger to make sure that it is okay. I can't imagine how many times we have said "O that's hot!" to him-so it only makes since that he is cautious.
  • Finnean loves to dip his food. He thinks that bar-b-que sauce is called "dip it!"
  • Somehow Jerry always gets a little snack while Finnean eats. I wonder if it is on purpose!!
  • Finnean loves to "cheers!" Michael taught him this as way to get him to take bites of his food and he does a great job. He will cheers his fork, his sandwich, fruit...whatever he can to get you to say it!
  • He loves the idea of sandwiches. He talks about them a lot but then over the past couple days-doesn't really want to have anything to do with sandwiches!
  • This last one is not about what Finnean eats but how he helps Jerry eat. Feeding Jerry is Finnean's new chore (only chore really). He does a great job. Gets the food out of the cupboard, takes it to the bowl, scoops it and then dumps it in, pust the lid on with some help and then carries it back to the cupboard. We tried water but that ended up all over my wall...so right now we are just sticking with the food!
