1st trip to the pool!

Even though Finnean is still a little too little to go swimming, we went and visited Grandma Lisa at her hotel and went to the swimming pool. Cousin Carter showed Finnean how to splash around but Finnean just had too much. He was way more comfy just snuggling with Grandma.

Finnean continues to amaze us each and everyday. Michael and I were talking last night about how little we knew about having a baby less than four months ago!! We know we still have plenty to learn but think we are doing okay :) It is just absolutely crazy to us how long ago it seems like we were wondering around the hospital in the in middle of the night to see Finnean in the nursery! As many of you have told us, it does go so quickly. We continue to cherish every little minute. Even the ones that are filled with crying for no apparent reason-thank goodness we don't have very many of those.

Some of Finnean's favorite things to do:

• Sit in his Bumbo chair
• Chew on his fingers
• Smile and really starting to giggle!!
• Sit with Daddy and read
• DROOL! it is everywhere!
• Play with his play gym
• Talk to Momma
• Watch Jerry run around and walk by
• Snuggle with Marcia
• Go for walks in the Moby

Some new things Finnean can do:

• Hold up his head for longer periods of time
• Sleep through the night (he has been doing this for a while!)
• He is expanding his vocal range-he has just started to squeal a little!
• Laugh. It is incredibly cute and he gets better at it each day.
• Be on his tummy for a little without screaming (sometimes!)
• Lift his head on his tummy
• ROLL OVER! It has only happened once-but he is so close!
• Grab his toes

1st day at outside daycare!

Finnean had his first adventure of going outside of our home for daycare. We are very fortunate to have Marcia come to our house and watch Finnean each day but also very lucky to have a great back up! Thanks Lori! Finnean had a great day. He got to play with big kids, look at new toys and meet new people! He was worn out when he got home! I even made it to work without crying! It is hard leaving him someplace new, but I made it!

This was taken BEFORE Finnean decided that he was going to have the biggest poopy we have ever seen. It was all over his nice clothes! Of course this happened FIVE minutes before we were supposed to leave. I guess it was better that it happened at home and not at the restaurant. Ohhh...just one of the joys of having a three month old. On a positive note I had a nice shirt on so Daddy had to clean him up!

We had a busy weekend! Grandma and Poppa Wagler's 35th wedding anniversary was on Monday the 9th. So we attempted to surprise them with having all us kids at dinner, of course Grandma was just to suspicious and she knew...but we did get Poppa!! He had know idea. It was great to see everyone and then today we have just been spending time soaking up the sun and going for a walk. Tonight we are going to go visit Lori who will be babysitting Finnean while Marcia is on a mini vacation. So we will have our first adventure of taking Finnean somewhere for the day-I am sure that he will do great BUT it will be hard on me. I know he is in good hands though---thanks Lori!!

We went to the Botanical Center this Saturday in Downtown Des Moines. We are trying to take Finnean to places that stimulate his little brain! He did a great job while we were there. The first half hour or so he just looked around and really like the contrasting colors on all of the plants. He smelled flowers and looked at water falls. Then he got pretty sleeping and took a nap for the second half hour! We used our Moby wrap and he seems to love it. I love it because I get to snuggle him up!

3 months!

It is hard to believe that Finnean is three months old all ready! It is just so crazy how quickly the time has gone by but on the other hand it seems just like the other day we were driving to Mercy to have him.

Things you do when you are 3 months old:

We continue to work on holding up his head-he is getting very good at staying steady and scanning the entire room, just soaking it all in. He hates tummy time for the most part, we are continuing to try to strengthen those neck muscles. He loves watching his hands and feet and has started sucking on his fingers a lot. Just about anything he can grab on to goes in his mouth and the drooling has started! His big blue eyes just keep getting bigger and bigger! it is so fun to watch him grow. Since I have started back to work it seems like he has really grown! His face has really filled out and he just keeps getting longer! He is in size 2 diapers and wears 0-3 and some 3-6 month cloths! It is crazy to think he can fit into them!!! He is working on rolling over from his belly to his back but that little arm is still in the way-we hope he does it soon! It is so fun to watch him try!!! He loves to read and look at his krinkly books (makes noise when you hit it) and he loves to swat at his toys! He is an old pro at shaking his rattle!
