Finnean and Grady's Cook Out

We could not pass up a beautiful evening like tonight-so the Blanchards came over for dinner. We were so excited because we did this on the spur of the moment---something that rarely happens when you have fun little boys! He looks like he is pondering life.

This is Grady LOVING Finnean's car...what a stinker...you can ask him Momma and Dad about what a stinker he was :)

This is his new favorite pose.

Lady---stop taking my picture!
Sharing the chair! They are getting so big!

The boys are really working on sharing. Here they are "sharing" a pre-dinner fruit bowl!
ps...Finnean LOVED the hamburger on the grill...thumbs up to Michael for his excellent grilling skills-only the second time on the grill this year!

My Boys!

I think this picture totally captures why I am so in love with these two boys. Look at them in their little white tee shirts, all snuggled up reading a book. Finnean loves to read with Dad. He is an excellent page turner and Michael is getting good at all of the different voices he has for stories. They can really melt my heart.

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail...

This was about as close as Finnean wanted to get to the good old Easter Bunny. After we walked away he was blowing him kisses, waving and saying bye-bye. It is just kinda scary to be that close to a giant bunny!!
Doesn't he look so old?
I loved this little green and purple outfit! It is his Easter outfit-so I am sure that you will see many more photos of this outfit after this weekend but I wanted to get some use out of it!!!

Cute Finnean Story

Tonight we Skype'd Grandma and Poppa Wagler and Finnean loves to talk to them! He squeals and waves, attempts to blow kisses and spends a lot of time running in and out of the picture, but enjoys it none the less. Tonight we had a special treat and Uncle Adam and Aunt Maddy had their computer on...so we Skype'd them. It was great to see them and Finnean wasn't quite sure what to think. We chatted and then hung up. Finnean cried because they went away:( ---he walked over to his toy bin and found the picture of Adam and Maddy that his has and carried it around!! It was so sweet that he found them on his own!!! We are so grateful that we get to "see" our family a little more than we usually would with the help of computers!!! Be sure to check out the new pictures from our St. Patrick's Day fun!

Diaper Bag

I cleaned out our diaper bag yesterday and this is what I found...please keep in mind it is a normal sized bag!!!
  • 2 q-tips
  • a golf ball
  • 4 books
  • 4 spoons
  • Snacktrap with goldfish
  • Cheerios
  • Cheerios in the bottom of the bag
  • bags to put dirty diapers in
  • wipes
  • 2 travel packs of Kleenex
  • hand sanitizer
  • chap stick
  • a truck
  • 2 toy rings
  • diaper rash cream
  • a fruit roll up
  • a changing pad
  • lotion for Momma
  • diapers---but only TWO!!

I wish I would have weighed it...I am sure that it would be close to Finnean's weight! What I learned: Clean out the diaper bag more often!!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Finnean after the St. Patty's Day parade downtown DSM. Finnean and Grady loved watching the cars and people go by-we didn't stay too long because it was nap time!

Walking Jerry with Dad to get the mail.

Finnean loves walking on his own!

Jerry!!!!!!!!

I am so excited that we could get outside-makes for great picture taking!

I love his long, long lashes!

Jerry the watch dog.

Finnean has been "standing" on his head lately. I am sure that it won't be long before he can do a somersault!

What a turkey!

Vroom!!!

It is amazing how much this little guy has grown, changed, developed in the past year!
What a cute little 'Irish' boy!!!

New Tricks...

We have been working on learning body parts at our house. Finnean does such a good job of remembering where they are! He also knows where his toes and ears are at! We obvisouly think it is adorable that he can remember things but also wanted to post this video because everytime we are out and about we try to get him to show off...he does not do it!!!

Finnean's First Car...a Cozy Coupe!

We have been watching this little car for a while. My friend Kelcee and I actually tried to buy one at a thrift store one day-but it was a customers-so the search continued! We got a great coupon from Toys R Us and thought it would be perfect Spring! Finnean loves it. When he got in he touched every inch of it and Michael spent the day driving him around the house. He will take his chatter phone in the car and "talk" while he drives. We are excited because it is supposed to be so nice this week and we can't wait to get outside!!

So happy!

Hi Momma!

Check out him driving with his feet!

Pancakes...

7:39 am Tuesday morning-Michael calls to tell me this o so cute story. and if he calls right after he drops him off...you know it had to have been pretty cute!

Michael: I just dropped off Finnean at daycare. He got out of his car seat, waved bye-bye and walked over to "his" spot at the picnic table and said "pancake". Miss Kim said we had pancakes yesterday do you want a waffle? Finnean said "pancake".

He knows what he wants! So tonight I fulfilled his wish and we had pancakes for supper. He had two and not to mention all of the batter he ate. I am trying to get him involved in cooking his meals-so he was helping me "stir" which turned into him eating the batter saying "pancake!" Not sure how he eats it but it must taste good to him. He also had two strawberries, a yogurt and some milk (which he totally knows the sign for!!) I am not sure where he puts all that food and only weighs 20 lbs. He also learned the sign for "hot" tonight and was saying it as he signed it. It is amazing how quick he picks up things.

We eat peanut butter on our pancakes...what do you put on yours?

New words...

Finnean keeps adding new words to his vocabulary. This weekend it was "Grandma" and "Grandpa". They even heard it so-I am not making it up!!! It was the sweetest thing! Today I told him we were going to take Jerry on a walk and he said "walk." He is just so chatty these days!

We had a great weekend in Bloomfield-we got to see all the grandparents and just relaxed! It is always nice to go back but then we are all exhausted by the time we come home! Finnean was asleep by 7 and we were asleep by 8:15!

15 month check up

Finnean went to the doctor on Friday for his 15 month check up and he passed all his tests. It is nice to be able to say YES to all the little questions they ask. Of course he is still just a little little guy-20 lbs (still in the 3rd %) but on a positive note he is still following that curve. If he goes down then the doctor will be worried. He grew about an inch and 1/2 and is in the 25th%. His head is the only thing that is "normal" and is at 50%. He did such a good job with this shots and we found out some good news...18 month shots and then NO SHOTS until his is five! That is pretty exciting!

Other good news...NO MORE BOTTLES!! Finnean took his last bottle last week on Tuesday morning! He has been doing such a good job drinking out of his sippy! We are so excited to not be washing bottles anymore!!!

At home with Momma!

This is Finnean noticing that Jerry wants some of his snack...

Jerry talked him into it...

This is the smile after I totally busted him sharing his snack...after I told him no multiple times!

Getting Jerry.

He was so tired but didn't want to take a nap. now it is almost five and he is down for a nap. silly boy.

This is my fav shot from the day.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I did taking them. I miss taking his picture all the time-so I took advantage of the natural light from all the beautiful sunshine and snapped some pictures. Our daycare lady is sick today-so Michael had him this morning and then I got to stay with him this afternoon! It turned out to be a pretty good day. Michael said that Finnean officially can climb on the couch by himself and I forgot to let you know...Finnean's favorite new word is "Uh-oh!!" He will drop stuff on purpose just to say it! Hope you enjoyed the sunshine today!!

Hats...

I realized that Finnean has a lot of hats...so we decided to take pictures in all of the ones we could find! All those hats=hat head!Too tired after all the hats!
