Whoa!

Okay, okay.  I know every time I get behind I say that I am not going to do that again.  BUT summer is crazy and life has been crazy good.  Please keep scrolling and clicking older posts.  I had to catch us up from the beginning of June!! Crazy!!  If you want to flash back to a year ago click here and to see how little Hutchinson was click here! Enjoy the update and leave comments-we always love to hear what you have to say:)

Happy Birthday, Hutchinson Reyes Wagler!

On Hutchinson's birthday we went to watch the Davis County Mustangs play baseball in the State Tournament. Last year, when Hutchinson was born they were also playing in the tournament and Finnean got to go with Grandma and Poppa.  It was fun that Hutchinson actually got to go this year!!  You can see how he traveled to the game last year...here.
Even with all this cuteness cheering for the Mustang boys, they lost the game.  It was a great chance to teach Finnean about sportsmanship and he still thinks that all of those boys are pretty darn cool!

Finnean knows right where to sit.  In BETWEEN Grandma and Poppa.  Poppa was scooping him bites of ice cream between drinks of Grandma's frozen lemonade :)  I think he has them wrapped around his little fingers!

After the game we headed to dinner to celebrate Hutchinson a little more!  Grandma brought yummy cookies from Pella!

Hutchinson wasn't afraid to bite right in!

I love this picture because he looks so old.  He is trying not to lose any of the yummy crumbs :)

Big smiles for Grandma!

Happy, Happy Birthday Little Hutchinson!

They all look happy :)

After we got home Hutchinson got to open all of his birthday cards!
Thanks Karen A., Miss Laurie, Ashlyn & Adam, Kevin and Nana D for thinking of him!
He really like getting mail and ripping open the cards!!

We made it!!!!

Disclaimer...this whole post will be about nursing a baby...so if you do not need that info...just keep scrolling :)

O MY GOODNESS!! I did it.  I nursed my baby for a year!  I don't think I have ever been so happy about a personal accomplishment, ever.  It was an incredible amount of work but I did it!!  If you remember about 6 months ago my milk supply was almost out and I worked to build it back up and get little Hutchinson to gain weight again.  We are now officially transitioned to whole milk.  He drinks out of a sippy cup all the time.  The only nursing we have to give up is the 5 am one.  Right now we are in the middle of a transition plan of kicking that one as well.  I have had mixed emotions about this process.  It is an amazing connection but also very tiring and a commitment.  Since Hutchinson started boycotting a bottle, I could not leave him for a really long period of time.  It is a weird feeling that I could leave all day and he would be just fine!! Thanks to Michael and my friends/family I had the support to make this happen.  For anyone who wasn't able to nurse or it didn't work out for you and your family--- I am not anti-formula and I am not a better mom because I nursed him for a year.  I would hate to make anyone feel bad because I am so pumped about this.  It is a goal that we set for our family and it happened to work out!!
So I am proud to say, I nursed Hutchinson for a year!!!

Hutchinson's Picnic Bash!

On July 21st, we threw a picnic birthday bash for Mr. Hutchinson.  We thought it was a perfect way to celebrate the little man turning one and celebrate that we made it a whole year with two kids!! Since Finnean's birthday is in December, I knew that I wanted it to be outside.  Our friends have a lot of little boys-so letting them run free seemed like a great way to let them have a great time while the parents got to visit and enjoy the day.  We had it at a little park not far from our house.  We didn't even know it existed but it turned out perfect.  Wide open spaces, perfect for running.  Water hook up, perfect for a sprinkler. Grill, prefect for food.  Nice shelter, perfect for keeping us out of the sun!  It was all and all a successful party!  Hutchinson did great and showed off his smile for everyone.  The day was perfect (we were really worried about the heat!) but it didn't get too hot until after the party was over.  There was a great breeze and we were in the shade.  We decorated with fabrics.  Cobalt blue, orange, grey, yellow and white.  We kept it simple with a little whale as the birthday "mascot" you could say.  Michael, of course, whipped up super cute invitations.  The party went off without a hitch and I think everyone had a really good time.  It was a wonderful way to celebrate Hutchinson turning ONE!  We are so thankful for everyone that came to help us celebrate!
Hutchinson trying to figure out what he was supposed to do with this cake we sat in front of him...

I love this picture.  Check out Jace on the left-he is so cute and looks like he is cheering him on to walk!

A little taste!

LOVE!

Hutchinson decided that he wasn't that into the cake, so we gave him a Snickerdoodle that Grandma Lisa made and he really loved that!

Love this picture!  His foot is covered in frosting and he is loving that cookie :)
This was my craft project for the party.  I knew I wanted a banner but found that they were really expensive to buy...so I just made it!  It was a fun project!

The set up.

Yummy treats!

Lisa is awesmoe and made great Snickerdoodles and of couse Michael was in charge of signage.

All the tasty treats!  The birthday treats are in the front, on the right.  These are famous in Bloomfield.  So tasty and Michael always had them at his birthday.  His Mom would even send them to him while he was in Savannah.  We thought it was a fitting treat to have!  We decided not to do cake for everyone but to do a few different treats.  We had little bags for everyone to take treats home with them too!

Little favors for all the friends (bubbles and water shooters for the big boys!)
We also always have a book for everyone to sign and to leave a little greeting for the birthday boy.  Then when the boys are old they will have a collection of books that are just for them!  We started with a book at the hospital when they were born :)

Family photo minus Finnean.  He was was too busy running around, loving playing with his friends!!
Isn't this the cutest little invitation!
I am so thankfully that Michael has those skills :)  He really helps all of my party ideas come together!

Celebrating Hutchinson!

O my!!  It has been a couple of weeks of mixed emotions.  One minute I am so excited that he is one and the next I am crying because I don't want him to grow up.  He is so much fun right now.  Each month I kept thinking that THIS was the best month and he keeps proving me wrong.  Hutchinson is a HAPPY boy.  That has remained consistent.  He does show a bit more frustration when you take something away but is easily distracted.  He is funny! He loves to dance and make us laugh.  He is getting to be a real pro at standing on his own now.  He hasn't taken any steps but he is close.  You can see the wheels turning..."how do I get those feet to move!?"  He loves to clap and bounce around.  He can sign more and all-done.  That is helpful at the dinner table!  He eats pretty much everything we do and has switched to whole milk!!  He is a pro at drinking out of a sippy cup!  He says Dad and Mama.  The catch is he says Dad in a happy voice and Mamamama when he is at my feet whining for something.  Silly boy! He also says Hi and maybe ball.  I think he can "arf!" like a dog on occasion! :)  He LOVES his big brother and they have started playing together.  O my-it just makes my day.  They giggle and Finnean schemes plans for them.  It is fun to watch.  Hutchinson still loves Jerry and is a pro at giving him "nice touches!" He has started rolling the ball to you.  He is smily and rowdy.  He is just a fun, loving little boy.  Oh we can't wait to see what he can do next!!

Here are a few pictures from his one year photo shoot.  Kelcee and Matt have a beautiful living room-it made for a great location!  We plan to get an outdoor shoot done soon (we were waiting for the heat to break!), so enjoy these until then!
Checking out what the big brother is doing:)  A daily event.

Checking out the world.

Love him.

Look at those round cheeks!!

This is my favorite from the shoot.  It really captures him playing :)
A rare serious face.

I love the concentration on his face.  Finnean stacked the blocks and Hutchinson was taking them down one by one!

OOOOOhhhh..those lashes and that sweet little grin.
I am smitten.

Party Pictures!!

Here a few more pictures from Hutchinson's first birthday party! :)
Grandma Lisa and Hutchy :)

Michael doing some imaginary grilling.  Thanks Matt, for actually grilling for us :)

Doesn't this look like fun!!!  We had ten boys under 7.  The sprinkler was a perfect way to keep the big boys entertained!  Hutchinson can't wait until next year, so he can get in on the fun!!

Hutchinson getting some love from the ladies!

Club!!
Please note that Tonya (far right) is just about 4 days out from having her sweet little girl!  She arrived on Wednesday, the 25th!!

:)
Love this one :)

Hutchinson didn't take long to get the hang of opening presents!!

Going on an adventure!
There is a trail right off of the park, so Ellie and Winston took the boys on a hike.  I think a few others went too :

"Uncle" Trav made it down for the party!

Love these girls!
I love this picture of his little tongue.  Sweet thing!

Hutchinson...

Is it just me or does he have the sweetest little face?!

Ankeny's Summerfest!

A couple weekends ago it was Ankeny's town celebration, Summerfest.  We hit up the pancake breakfast before the parade.  Doesn't he look like he has done this before?

Thankfully our neighborhoods snagged a shady spot for the parade.  The babes got to hand in the shade!
Hutchinson doesn't look too impressed with the parade.  It was HOT!!! (that is a theme in the next few posts!)

Love this picture of my sweet baby.

BUT I also love seeing his smiling face :)

Do the Zoo!!!

A few weeks ago we met the Blanchard's at the zoo.  It was great to get the boys together and watch them explore.
The big boys in the egg.

We went on Monday and they have the free train...four little boys were pretty darn happy!  Grady and Finnean sat in a seat together.  It was pretty cute and they looked sooo old!!

Checking out the penguins :)

Love these boys!!

After the zoo we had a picnic.  The boys got to play and run around a bit.  When Grady was getting in the car, Finnean ran over and said "You're my best friend."  Enough to make a momma tear up!!  After that I attempted to get a picture of them.  Finnean was being silly and Grady was just soooo sad that he was leaving.  Doesn't he have the best sad face!?  Sweet boy has the biggest heart!
