Birthday weekend!!!

To celebrate my birthday we went to Ames and stayed over night at our friend Trav's house (he wasn't there!)-so it was like we were at a hotel but free!  We woke up and headed to State Center (one of Michael's work towns) for the Annual Rose Parade.  It was a fun hot day!  We stopped at Hickory Park for some lunch and free ice cream before heading to Reiman Gardens!  It was a great, fun filled day.  My boys treated me like a queen :)  We also were celebrated Michael, as Father's Day was the next day.  It was a great time!
Eating yogurt without a highchair can be messy!

Finnean and all of his loot!!

A Popsicle?!
We have never been to a parade that gave out Popsicles!!  It was  a perfect treat for a hot day...except for it is hard to get it open without scissors!!!

Happy or sad?
What is your guess???
Answer at the bottom of the post:)

Daddy trying to cover up Hutchinson's ears!

Checking out the parade...The Shiners were buzzing around in their cool, little cars...awesome!!

Love him!

Those eyes!!

Reiman Gardens has an amazing Lego display going on right now.  You need to check it out if you haven't already.

Lego boy!

Isn't this crazy!?

They even had a little station to build some Legos.  It was nice to have a little shade and take a little break.

Hutchinson did great riding along in the stroller!

Happy Dad.

Happy Mom.

Finnean's sweet Frank Lloyd Wright inspired house.

He is getting soooo big!!
Look at that naughtly little grin :)

Exploring one of the neat features at the gardens.  It is amazing how many nooks and crannies it has.

Pulling up!
I love this picture of the big boys.  They look like they are on a very serious adventure!!

Sweet boy giving Momma some snuggles!!
This is was of my favorite sculptures.  Even the "food" was made of Legos.

More exploring.  This is right up Finnean's alley.  He is VERY into maps and exploring.
THIS was my favorite!

Happy boy.

Love of my life.

Perfect picture of how the afternoon ended.
We were HOT and TIRED.  Finnean wanted nothing to do with taking a picture.
*Note to self: Take entrance pictures BEFORE you go on a 2 hour hike around the gardens.
Okay-so here is the story on the picture of Finnean.  Did you decide?  Was he happy or sad?
HAPPY!
That is why that picture cracks me up so much!! We were watching the parade and about 100 feet from the street that the parade was on, there is a train track.  There are a LOT of trains that go through town.  They are going fast and they are loud!!  He was sooo pumped that there was a train but then the train had TRACTORS on it.  It sent him over the edge.  His face was priceless.  He was so excited but look terrified at the same time.  Love that boy and his love for anything that has wheels!!
