reds, yellows, oranges...

Fall colors...my favorite time of the year. Next year I am sure that he will be RUNNING and JUMPING in the leaves, so I should be happy that he is just sitting here! Not looking, but sitting here! Thanks Grandma Lisa and Poppa Wagler for the warm flannel shirt...it is perfect for fall!!
I got this hat on the $1 rack at Target. It has a little red ball on top... :) He is so serious because he is not sure about the leaves!!!

"Where did his brains go???"

October 28th

I know I usually keep the blog about Finnean but Finnean wouldn't be here if we didn't get married! Wednesday is our 3 year anniversary and I had to post some of my favorite pictures.
*****
October 28, 2006 was a beautiful fall day. Filled with sunshine and gorgeous fall colors. We laughed, we cried, we danced-it was one of the most amazing days of my life. We had a candlelit ceremony at the Methodist Church in Bloomfield following by dinner and dancing at the Bloomfield Country Club. We took pictures at the Weaver House, the place we ate at for our Prom dinner. Prom dates is all we were supposed to be, Michael needed a date and I was cute-so we were set up. We weren't supposed to fall in love...but we did-so it was extra special to have pictures taken at the beautiful Weaver House. A hayride was our perfect fall carriage to the Country Club.

What a perfect day. Gives me goosebumps to think about it.
One of my favorite pictures from all 2000 we have.

Soap

Two soap stories...

#1. Baby soap has to be the most amazing smell in the world. Michael is gone so I got to snuggle Finnean up all to myself tonight. We hate when he is gone but take advantage of snuggletime! After Finnean's bath he was so sleepy. After putting jammies on and drinking his milk, he just snuggled me up. I got to smell that sweet goodness of a innocent little boy who continues to grow up so big each day. I can remember when he was teeny, tiny and smelled the same way at the hospital. Now he is too big to hold like a baby and prefers to look out at his room and pat his little head. He plays with your fingers and pats his belly to make you laugh. It makes me smile just thinking about it...What a perfect end to the day!!!

#2. Not quite as mushy of a story. On Sunday night I was giving Finnean a bath and I dropped his soap on the floor. Didn't think any thing of it and put back on the side of the tub and went about our business. Michael went down a couple hours later to get the bathroom trash and found, what he thought was water but no. It was a WHOLE bottle of baby soap leaked all over the floor. Not the small little kind, we bought the biggest one they had. Do you know how hard it is to clean up liquid soap?!?! It is a sticky mess...at least the bathroom smells good!

Leaves!!!

Finnean loves to "fly!" He always gets a huge toothy smile when you put him up high in the air!

Lisa and Richard have a beautiful tree outside the kitchen window and it turns amazing colors each year. The wind today blew off a bunch of leaves and made it a perfect spot for some fall snap shots!

Finnean has been trying to give thumbs up or has found out he can stick up his thumb or something. This is him thumbs up but not quite sure about being in the grass or touching the leaves!

Laura and Ryan's Wedding!

We went to Bloomfield for longtime friend's wedding. Michael has know Laura for a long time due to being the same age as her sister and my friendship with Laura has grown over the years. She looked stunning in a beautiful gown and you could just see the love between her and Ryan! Classic would be the word I would use to describe it!

I love dressing up Finnean and we even got the whole family to coordinate! Check out the pictures below to see Finnean looking like a big boy in his rocking sweater vest!
Every time we go home for a wedding Lisa takes our picture in this spot!

Finnean playing after the wedding ceremony and before the party! He loved playing by the door at Grandma's. Not sure why-but Carter used to do that too!

My friend Lori had two boys and she brought over some shoes to pass along to Finnean. He LOVES these camo shoes and drug them around the whole afternoon and is still doing it at home today!

Blue eyes!

Momma and Finnean after the wedding! It was much chiller than we thought!

It seems like I don't ever get him smiling with me-so here is another of us at the party. It was so sweet Laura and Ryan had a spot just for Finnean with his high chair and even put his name on the place card! Thanks for thinking of us!!

Whipped Cream!

" It's good!"
We are teaching Finnean to put his hands above his head when we say It's Good! We watch a LOT of football at our house so he needs to start learning the signs! This is him practicing!
Last Sunday we put a big scoop of whipped cream on Finnean's tray...he didn't know what to think at first but then got into it! He figured out he could eat it and started licking his arm to get if off! Of course when we was done he put his hands in his hair...we needed to take a bath anyway!!

Play date with Grady!

Having fun on the play date!!
10.10.09

Grady has been on our blog before and is one of Finnean's best friends. Grady is a little older so he shows Finnean all kinds of stuff, like walking behind the walker, talking, jumping and just how to have fun! The boys had a great time together and it was neat to see their little personalities and just the difference a few weeks in age can make!! Finnean loved watching Grady!

10 months!

It is hard to believe our little guy is 10 months old. He is such a busy bee around the house. He makes laps to our bedroom and then through the living with a stop at trying to eat Jerry's food in the kitchen. He loves laughing and shaking all of his musical toys. He loves "talking" to Jerry dog and "petting" him as well, Jerry usually moves before Finnean can do much damage! Finnean says Da-Da all the time and even said Ma-Ma on Friday!!! Michael even heard it, so I am not making it up :) He loves to squeal and talk to us and is just plain happy. Daycare continues to be a struggle for sleeping but they say he is so happy besides that. He will get the hang of it soon enough. Finnean spends a lot of time playing and exploring the first level of our house and standing up on everything possible. We are working on developing his language skills and feeding himself. The feeding is messy but fun to watch! He is eating more and more table food, what ever is soft enough and has discovered goldfish, which he loves! He is working on using a sippy cup, but it is hard to tip it up far enough to get any water out! It is amazing to watch him explore everything each day! He has started a cheesy face today and really likes when people say "he's so cute!" He will purposely smile at people until they say something....what a turkey! He loves to pat his belly when you ask him too and shake his booty when Dad plays the guitar. I am sure that there is much more that he is doing...we will try to keep you posted!
Enjoy the video of Finnean "walking" behind the laundry basket for the first time and also of dinner time!

Fun in the Mud!

We hit the Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze for some Fall Family Fun last Sunday, 9.27.09.
So dirty and so tired after a long afternoon at the patch!

Mud!!! Michael couldn't believe that I let him crawl around in the mud. He just looked so cute and like such a little boy!!

Favorite picture of the entire day!!

That's a BIG pumpkin!!!

"Good Man, Charlie Brown."
Grandma and Poppa Wagler are always saying that and now Michael says it to Finnean. We couldn't pass up the Charlie Brown cut-out.

Okay...so this is my favorite picture of the day. They just look perfect. What amazing men I have in my life!

Finnean making sure the pumpkin doesn't fall out!

He just looks "all boy" here. He kept his hat on all day and I think that he just looks like he is a good old farm boy!

So big!!!

Flying!!!

Family shot in the corn maze!

Checking out the tassels. We discussed with Finnean how he can have his first job detassling if he wants...but he will have to wait a few years for that good corn picking money!

In the middle of the corn field!

Finnean helping Dad navigate the corn maze. We found all 11 posts and even got a prize for finishing it!!!

Big smiles!!!

Go Cyclones!

We took Grandma and Poppa Wagler and Grandpa Steve to the Iowa State vs. Army game on September 26th. We tailgated a little before the game and then went in to find seats. Finnean did great all day and seemed to really enjoy being outside. He loves to watch people so he had plenty to do! The Cyclones even WON!!! It was family day at Jack Trice so it could not have been a better day to go. The weather was perfect to be outside all day and Poppa Wagler even wore an Iowa State shirt!!! If you don't know, he is a HUGE Hawk Fan, so we were quite surprised when he showed up at our house wearing Cardinal!
