GO Cyclones!

We hit up an ISU basketball game on January 15th with Uncle Trav and some friends. Finnean LOVED it and didn't really make a peep the whole time...until he got hungry and when ISU dunked it and the crowd went crazy...it scared him!! He loved watching the game and looking for Cy. His favorite part...Cy shooting a basket during halftime!

Cyclones win and we were ready to go home. Finnean's little cheeks get so red when he gets hot...and it was hot at the end of the game!

He found one our old hats and loves to wear it! It is way to big but gets the job done to keep his ears warm! This is him checking out Hilton at the end of the game!

Snowman Time!

So proud!!!

Love the funny faces that he makes. He was so excited about the carrot nose.

They are so cute!

Family Fun!!
We spent the afternoon building a snowman. It was "kind of" warm and the snow was wet. Made for the perfect snowman making snow. Since then it has been really cold...so he is still standing strong!!

Finnean was helping Daddy "scoop" the drive.

Project Cozmo

Yesterday at 3:30 we got to hear the sweetest sound in the world...a little tiny heartbeat of a little tiny human that I am currently growing!!! We are beyond excited and Finnean thinks that it is pretty cool that he is getting a baby (well most days he says that he wants one). We are 12 weeks along and I have been feeling much better this past week. Cozmo is expected to make his/her arrival the last week of July. As some of you may remember, last time we were pregnant we named our little growing human, Cozmo while he/she was growing...so we thought it was fitting that we use that name again and then Cozmo can get his/her unique name when he is born. We think that Finnean will make an excellent big brother and seems to have some sort of concept that he is getting a baby (his friend Grady got a baby brother...so I think that helped). Finnean gives the baby hugs and says "Good Morning baby" while we are snuggling in the mornings. He knows where the baby is and most days says that he wants a sister. We won't find out until Cozmo makes an appearance into the world though. We love the idea of having a great surprise. Stay tuned for more adventures of Finnean and Cozmo.
"Cheese-hamburgers!"
That is his new thing to say when you take his picture!
We headed to Pizza Ranch again this year for Carter's 5th birthday. Finnean had a blast and loved that there was cake there! Not sure that he realizes that most birthday parties include cake! It was great to see our family.

A Finnean update...

  • "O my gosh." -He says it all the time, for any reason.
  • "I boo'd Jerry." He came to me and told me this and I couldn't figure out what he meant...I finally figured out that he attempted to scare Jerry :)
  • He has little Lego people and he recently named one James. We couldn't figure out why. Finally we decided that we had been calling cousin Carter by his full name, Carter James Wagler and he must have decided that James was a cool name to name your Lego. So James joins two named Guy, Finnean and a little Lego person that obviously reminds Finnean of a firefighter (she is really a jockey) but he calls her FireMan.
  • "I share." We talk a lot about sharing and he is always saying "I share." He especially loves to share bananas, snacks...food in general...toys....not so much!
  • The other day there was water on the floor and he said "Uh-oh...drink of water fall down!"
  • We are working on learning letters and Michael always says the letter R like a pirate...so now Finnean goes around saying "Arrrggh matey!"
  • He does an awesome job using a kleenex and asks for one if he needs one. (I know...seems small but to not have to wipe his nose all the time...whooo!)
  • He loves to play Legos, shoot hoops and play with his train track. Reading books, doing puzzles and working on flashcards also helps pass our time. He is learning so many new words and has a great memory. It blows us away.
  • He likes to play "games." Usually that includes him telling you where to stand while you play "catch!"
  • At dinner last night he told us that "a monster talking to me." Michael asked where? "Down by the dock." We said oh? "There was a bear in the tree..." So he apparently has an imagination and we have know idea where he comes up with this stuff. Michael often gets teased that he had quite the imagination when he was little...he once told a neighbor that his Grandpa trained dolphins. In Bloomfield, IA there aren't a whole lot of dolphin trainers!
  • He does an awesome job using silverware and loves to drink out of a big boy cup. Right now he prefers to drink out of straw. He always wants a "na-kin" to wipe his hands.
  • He is still in size 4 diapers and wears some 2T clothes. Mostly 18 month pants and 24 month shirts. He is in a size 6 shoe. He seems to be filling out a little but is still on the small side!
  • He is working on giving up his paci. He only uses it when he is in his crib for naps and bedtime. Otherwise he lets his stuffed dog use it all day. It is pretty cute that he is willing to share with his dog! He will be moving to a big boy bed soon...as soon as we can find the perfect bedding!
  • He asked me to "sit on that potty" today. The big boy potty...I had to hold him up there but at least he was willing to sit on it!

I am sure that he is doing so much more but hope you enjoyed a few bits of what daily life is like at our house!

Fun with fingerpaint!

Not quite sure...

Maybe this is fun...!

Why just use your fingers when you can use your toes too??

Happy New Year!

We had an excellent New Year's Eve! We had Bare Root Designs' 1st Annual Holiday Party at a nice restaurant downtown Des Moines. We ate too much of the amazing food and had good conversation. Finnean was such a big boy at the table.

Then we headed to Matt and Kelcee's to play Wii. This is Finnean with his friends!

Happy New Year!

We played Wii and Finnean "helped." We gave him his own remote and he danced the night away and then bowled. I think he thought he really got a strike. He did such a good job and we all had so much fun.

" Lookin' old!"
******
We didn't exactly ring in the new year...Finnean was asleep by 9 and we were asleep by 10! To our defense...I had to work the next day and we were tired!! Michael said that the next day Finnean kept whining and crying because he wanted to "dance!" and "play games." Apparently it only takes once to be hooked on the Wii! Fortunately he has given that up and I haven't heard him ask to play lately! Cheers to a wonderful 2011! Our project for 2011 will be revealed soon...

It's a Bird, it's a Plane...it's SuperFinn!

Finnean got big boy undies from Santa and gave them a go the other night. He turned into a superhero when he put them. He was running and jumping and being crazy. He thought they were pretty cool. He loves that they have "Buzz White-earrrr!!!" on them. As you can see his tiny little bootie doesn't really fit in them...he has some growing to do!
