Check it out!

Hope you enjoy all of the new pictures and updates on Mr. Finnean. We are having a blast and each day just gets better and better. I added a bunch of new pictures so make sure you keep scrolling and leave comments...we love to hear what you have to say!! Also-make sure you check the older posts at the bottom of the screen when you get there-we don't want you to miss any pictures! Enjoy!

First family picnic!

Finnean had his first picnic earlier this week. The weather was just so nice and we had to get outside. We grilled and ate outside, Finnean played in his Bumbo chair and watched all of the cars go by. He really seems to enjoy being outside but is very serious. I think he is just trying to figure out what in the heck is going on, as he has spend 99% of his life indoors! We can't wait for spring and summer weather to stay for good!!

More picures of Finnean!

I love this picture because you can't see his big smile but his eyes give it away that he is so happy. His smiles have gotten so big and just melt your heart!

Dad tried and tried to get Finnean to go down for a nap on Friday but he just would not do it-so Dad put him in the swing. Finnean just sat there with his eyes WIDE open so we gave him a book. Two minutes later he finally gave it up and fell asleep but the book was still tightly in his little hands! What a cutie!

Laugh, Little Bear, Laugh

Finnean has really started to laugh and you just have to smile back. This is a video we took at Grandma and Poppa Wagler's when we were home for Easter on 4.11.09. He even kept laughing when we got the camera-which is NOT usually the case! Enjoy!

Yum!! Yum!!

Ready to go in my new high chair!

First bites of cereal!

All done and just a little messy!

We decided that we wanted to start Finnean on cereal. He is eating organic rice cereal mixed with breast milk-which Dad calls rice mush, because he does not think it is like cereal in anyway :) It went much better than we expected and he didn't make too much of a face. Not sure that a whole lot went into his belly-but you have to start somewhere! Finnean will continue to get his nutrients mainly from breast milk but we will start adding in a couple feedings of cereal each day and then start adding fruits and veggies when it is time. We finally got to use the super cute bibs we received as a shower gift...THANKS Laura!

Finnean meets Senator Harkin

Main Street Iowa (Daddy's work) had their Challenge Grant Presentation today and Senator Harkin plays an active role in this process, so he was there to present the checks. Finnean got to meet him and Mr. Harkin just loved him. We got to chat with him and snap some pictures. He was incredibly nice and Finnean loved snuggling him. What a fun event and a great memory for the baby book. Thanks Senator Harkin!

A tooth!!!!

This is my newest favorite picture!!
We are amazed at how much Finnean changes each day. The top picture was taken on 4.19.09 and the bottom 4.2.09. It is crazy how he looks like a little boy more and more everyday!

Finnean surprised us on Saturday evening. On our way to dinner with some friends I noticed a little white spot on his gums. We could not believe that it would be a tooth but sure enough...the little white bumps have popped through!!! So that gummy smile you see above will have a tooth in it soon!! I am trying to get a picture of it but that little tongue keeps getting in the way!!

Busy Bee!

Finnean modeling his hat that Grandma and Grandpa Reyes got for him in Mexico.
Another modeling shot. Finnean got sunglasses from the Easter Bunny. He even keeps them on when we go for walks!

Dad helping Finnean check out all the cool stuff that the Easter Bunny brought him!

Tummy time!

Finnean had his four month check up on April 10th. His shots went well and he was such a trooper. He passes all of his tests at the doctor and is in the 75% for weight and 50% for height. We think the lady measured incorrectly. He just seems longer than 24.5 inches long. He weighted in at 14.10 lbs. The doctor did hear a heart murmur but said that it is nothing to worry about, as it was very faint. It just makes you worry-but he said not too!!
We went to Bloomfield the next day and that made for a long weekend. We had a great Easter visiting family and friends. Finnean is growing so much and the smiles just don't stop at our house. He is really giggling now and LOVES to smile!!

A few more pictures!

Thanks to who ever voted that Finnean looks like me...you are the only one! We think he looks like Michael for the most part...everything but his nose and his upper lip. We think that is me...but those eyes sure to say "Wagler!"
Getting ready for bath time!

"Whatcha looking at?!"

Dad and Finnean

The tummy time has paid off!!

We had a big weekend---after all the screaming during tummy time practice over the past four months...Finnean has started lifting his head off the ground when he is on his belly. Friday night he did it for the first time and by Saturday morning he looked like a professional. It is hilarious when he does it because he grunts, sounding like a professional weightlifter trying to lift something really heavy! When he is on his belly he can really move. We don't think he knows he is going anywhere but he can scoot! He continues to expand his vocabulary with squeals and more coos. He loves listening to Dad play the guitar and sing songs and lets him know when it doesn't sound so good. I am still adjusting too going back to work but I hate leaving him every morning. I am still breastfeeding and Finnean seems to be growing-so we are going to stick with breastmilk for now. Finnean will be 4 months TOMORROW!!!
It has gone so quickly---he amazes us everyday!!
Finnean was so proud of the ISU girls basketball team! He cheered them on and was happy with a Elite Eight berth!

Big Boy! Working on lifting his head!

Photo shoot in the sun!

His favorite thing besides his toes...his fingers. We think he will get his toes in his mouth soon! He can really stretch his legs out!

" Peace not war."
He is showing his political side already!
