Finnean had his first big boy bath on 5.19.09. He loved playing the in the big rubber duck (thanks Kaia!) and really started to splash around once he got comfortable. He loved "talking" to his sea horse and dolphin and even gave us a smile. Hope you enjoy seeing what our daily life is like. We hope to post more videos in the future when he as he gets more active!!!
This blog is my attempt at documenting this wonderful life that I have been given. It will be full of pictures of adventures, stories of the two growing boys and struggles of a stay at home mom. Enjoy.

Almost 6 months!
Finnean continues to amaze us everyday. Tonight he ate ALL of his rice mush. We have been struggling to get him to eat it. Every night we make it and he closes his little mouth tight because he doesn't want any-tonight something changed and he ate the whole bowl!! Thank goodness and we hope that it goes as well tomorrow night. It is crazy because anything you put even close to his mouth he opens up---but not for this cereal! Finnean started sitting up last week all by himself. He will be sitting up, see a toy he wants, lean forward to get it, pick it up and then sit back up. He looks like such a little boy when he does this! He has really started to squeal and grunt and talk to us and to his toys. It is hilarious. He sounds mad but is just talking away! We are so close to rolling over from back to belly---a couple more days!!! He is an old pro at rolling from his belly to his back. He can see so much more on his back, so he is quick to flip over! He turns 6 months on Tuesday and we go to the doctor next Friday. I hope to get a post of all the new things he is doing and his new stats from the doctor-so check back next week. We also have 6 month pictures...I will keep you posted!!
First I Cubs Game!
Smiley Bear!
Getting very sleepy and snuggled in with Grandma Lisa.
Hanging out while it rained!

Playing drums on the table!
We had a busy Memorial Day weekend. Finnean and Dad made it an extra long weekend due to Dad having Friday off. Since Michael gets every other Friday off-he gets to spend time with Finnean and get extra Dad time in. I think they both really love it. It is amazing to watch them interact-Michael can just light up Finnean's face. Saturday we spent the morning at the Downtown Farmer's Market (pictures below), out to lunch and then shopping. We decided that it was time to give up the glass coffee table and got an over sized ottoman that is a little more Finnean friendly. It was a great day out and about and Finnean loves just soaking up all of the new sights. He loves to watch and learn. Sunday we spent the morning relaxing and snuggling (one of my FAVORITE things to do) and then we headed to Kelcee and Matt's for a BBQ with Ashlyn and Adam. It was great to just hang out and relax. Kelcee and Matt have a lab named Bea (who Jerry LOVES!) but Finnean is a little scared of her. It is so weird because he loves Jerry but she must be a little too big! Monday we headed out for our first I Cubs game, as a matter of fact---Finnean's first baseball game! We almost made it on time but had a little trip to the Urgent Care Center first. We were going to Home Depot to look at gazebos for the back yard and got stuck in the turn-style with the stroller...I can't believe that we attempted to go through it but the metal piece hit Finnean in the head. Of course...first time parents we were all freaked out that we crushed is soft little skull-so off to the Urgent Care Clinic. The doctor basically laughed at us and told us to have a good time at the baseball game...at least we could enjoy it and not have to worry about the possible brain injury! AND we did not get to look at gazebos! The game was rainy but it was great to visit with Grandma and Poppa Wagler. Again, as long as Finnean can watch what is going on around him-he is happy. He was worn out by the 3rd inning and took a great nap with Grandma. We had a busy but great first Memorial Day weekend as a family-we love just hanging out together and going on new adventures.

First Mother's Day!!
We had a great Mother's Day. Finnean and Dad surprised me with beautiful pink roses and planned days for us of later on this month. They planned for us to go to the Capitol and have a day downtown followed by an I Cubs game, a trip to the Science Center and then "Mom Time" at The Family Tree-the studio where I have started going to yoga! It was a wonderful surprise! We spent the day together snuggling and playing. They took me to lunch and we went shopping (believe or not---one of my favorite things to do with both of them!!) The weekend started off great by me having some time to myself to get a massage and went to lunch-it was so peaceful and relaxing!! The best gift Finnean gave me was some belly laughs when we were playing together!!! He has really started to become a little person and that laugh just melts my heart!!! The weekend was topped off on Monday when my Dad and Trudy sent me beautiful flowers!! What a nice surprise!! I will let you know how our adventures go downtown!!
First out of state trip...LINCOLN!
So tired after graduation.
Snuggling with Aunt Maddy!
Getting some fresh air with Momma.
We made our first trip to another state last weekend!! Uncle Adam graduated with his masters degree from Nebraska, so we went to celebrate with the rest of the fam. Finnean did great in the car and while we were in Lincoln. The only time he really fussed is when we were on our way to the campus. My theory is that he knew we were going to be with a bunch of Cornhuskers and didn't want to go. We finally got him to settle down by letting him know that he doesn't have to like the Cornhuskers and we were going to see Uncle Adam graduate...he finally agreed and settled down. It was great to see the Wagler family and hang out all day. We left that evening and Finnean slept all the way home and went back to sleep in his crib...thank goodness!!!
Update...and pictures we love!
Grumpy Jerry and smiley Finnean
Model shot!! He looks like he is posing for me!
Finnean at "work." Dad calls the Exersaucer Finnean's work-he always looks very busy and like he has got a lot of stuff to get done when he is playing in it!!

Finnean has been a busy bee. Not this past weekend but the weekend before we went to the Blank Park Zoo with Grandma and Grandpa Thordarson. Finnean loved to watch the fish swim by and really loved the red pandas. They kind of moved around like Jerry does. He was just so alert and such a good boy-he really soaks it all up when we are out and about. He has made a couple of trips to Ames to help Daddy with band stuff and has been on a few shopping adventures. He is quite busy for such a little guy!
