That is a BIG dump truck!!

This was Finnean's face when we arrived at Grandpa Stevie's job site.  His mind was blown from the get go.

Then he got to climb up in this!!!

Hauling dirt.

Love this one.

BIG tires!!

All done and couldn't be more pumped!  He loved it.  Michael said that he named all of the other machines that they came up to.  Grader, scoop, dozer...it was awesome!!

Michael was pretty pumped too!  They both talked all the way to Indianola about how cool it was!!

We headed to Indianola for the balloon festival...more awesomeness!!  We had to make a stop along side the road for Finnean to make pit stop.  This marked his first peeing in the grass adventure...he thought it was awesome!!!

Happy camper...big trucks, big balloons and a yummy snack...he was so excited!

Love these little tiny toes.

This is just one of the many balloons we saw and it landed about 20 yards away from us.  It was crazy but very cool!
Oooohhh...sweet boy!

Best big brother ever!

Finnean reading Good Night Moon to Hutchinson.
He grabbed the book and started reading it to him all on his own!!

A little cat nap.

Milk is good :)

Big stretch!

Finnean showing Hutch how to play at the park.

First trip to the park!

3 weeks old!

We went to the doctor for Hutchinson's 3 week check up yesterday.  He is doing great and growing big!  He is now 9 pounds and 12 ounces and grew 1/4 of an inch in 3 weeks! Doc said that he is growing right on track and looks healthy.  He is in the 75% for height and weight-something big bro never hit! :) We have been having some struggles at night (up all night, not wanting to nurse) and I was explaining this and then he told me the symptoms of GE Reflux...almost all of which Hutch has.  He arches his back while he screams, doesn't want to sleep in his bed, won't nurse, looks like he is in pain.  This information came as a great relief, as knowing what is going on means we can help the little guy!  So we elevated the head of his little bed, make sure we sit him up after we feed him and I have eliminated chocolate, garlic and caffeine from my diet.  The garlic will be the hardest to give up...but if we can get some sleep I will do it!  We also got a prescription for Zantac.  Once we can get that filled we might give it a shot as well.  We just want this little guy to make sure he gets his milk and gets his rest to grow strong.  Last night gave us some hope...the little guy slept for four hours with his new set up!! Whooo!!  I am also so thankful for Michael.  He has helped so much in the middle of the night, even when he has to go to work.  We have been doing the switch, I take a shift then he does.  It works for both of us to get a little sleep.  Thank goodness we both got much more sleep last night!  Last night I was cleaning up around the house and then Michael came upstairs and said "Why are Finnean's clothes in the trash?" I had no idea what he was talking about...but apparently I accidentally threw away his clothes rather than putting them in the dirty laundry...whoops!!  I guess I was really tired.

4 days old

We are so totally in love.  This is just the first of many photo shoots at home.  Hopefully I can get Finnean to participate in them as well!  Here are a few of my favorites from our day.

Sleepy boy.

He reminds me of a little happy, old man.

I can't get over his tiny feet.  They are so incredibly soft, you can't help but run your fingers along them while he is snuggling you up.

Maxing and Relaxing.  Love how his cheeks are so big they hang down!

Goodness, he is sweet.

This is my favorite from the day.  If you notice his hairy little back and arms.  He is covered and it is so soft.  The nurses said it will fall off but goodness it is cute!

Little peanut.

Life is good.

Hutch

I think this is my favorite picture from the hospital.  He just looks so peaceful and perfect.

Okay...this one might be my favorite.  It is hard to pick but boy has he captured our hearts.

Around the house...

This is Hutchinson's "Peanut" picture.  We have one of Finnean just like this in the first few hours at home.  Finnean loves that picture and loves when Hutch looks like a peanut!

Sweet kisses from the big bro!

Love these boys!!!

Finnean being as silly as ever.  I think the sillyness factor has gone up since Hutch has arrived!

One of my favorite things in the whole world!
A milk drunk little boy!  He is like a wet noodle and so snuggly!!

Finnean rocking some Lego action! It is so fun to see what his little mind comes up with!

I think Jerry captures what our house feels like right now...exhausted!!

Sweet, napping boy.

Finnean outside with NO PANTS!!!  He was waving bye to Grandma and Poppa after the Mustang Baseball game!  Mustangs won the State Title!!!

Love!
Finnean thought it was cool until Hutch started crying :)

Finnean the Big Brother

Finnean riding on Hutchinson's "Fire Truck".  He helped me get Hutch out of the nursery and then jumped on like he owned the thing!  He said that it was a fire truck and he was the Captain.
Finnean was a little nervous at first meeting his little brother.  He slowly warmed up in the hospital and then has been doing great at home.  He has had a little extra sassyness but that is to be expected.  When we have visitors is probably the hardest time of day.  He has really started loving on Hutchinson in the past few days.  He loves to "change" his diaper and is an excellent helper!  He always asks if "he want to come?" if we are going somewhere.  I am not sure Finnean realizes that Hutch has to go everywhere with us.  He often asks if "that boy" is awake yet.  It is pretty cute.  At least he stopped calling him June (our little girl name) and sometimes calls him Hutchinson.  It has been an adventure filled week home and we couldn't be more excited about our little boys!  Finnean is making an excellent big brother!!

Hutch's First Date!

Hutch and Rileigh's first date, playdate that is!
Hutch was born on Tuesday and while we were at the hospital I got a message from Natalie that she was being induced in the morning.  We were so excited because we have been saying we wanted to be
in the hospital at the same time.  In the middle of the night I got a message from Natalie that her water broke and she was headed to Mercy!  We waited and waited to hear on the news of Natalie's sweet little girl and finally got to meet her on Thursday before we went home!  Hutchinson definitely had some weight on her...they both were 21 inches long but Hutch weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and Rileigh was 7 lbs.  You can see the difference in the picture!  We are excited to get the kiddos together soon to see how much they have grown!

On The Day You Were Born

I thought a slide show would be easier than posting 100's of pictures.  It does take a few minutes to watch but captures the first day in the life of little Hutchinson.

The following is the story of the birth our second born.  I wanted to "write" it all down on here to make sure that Hutchinson knows how he entered the world and so we can remember it down the road as well.  We hope at some point to compile the blog entries into some sort of book.
Here it goes...

On Tuesday, July 26th we woke up early to get ready for our new arrival.  We had to call the hospital at 5:30 AM to see if could come in at 6:30 to be induced.  They said to come in at 7:30.  That was the first feeling of nervousness that we were really having a baby TODAY!  About a half hour later, the hospital called and said to come in now.  Our friend Matt came to stay with Finnean for the day before Grandma Lisa would take over for the next few days.  We got to the hospital and right away got to our room.  There was lots of questions to be answered and we were admitted by 7:15 AM.  While answering the admission questions I mentioned that my mom had died last year and it affected me at times.  Our nurse says "my mom died July, 1st of last year."  I instantly started crying.  What are the chances that our nurse's mother died on the very same day that mine did.  The power of God is truly amazing.  It has obviously been on my mind that my mom would not be here for the birth of our second child and then it was out there.  That emotion could be released.  The nurse said it perfectly, "everyone thinks we should be all healed up and we are not."  Then she gave me a huge hug and that set the scene for one of the most wonderful days of my life.

Around 8:15 or so our favorite doctor, who happened to be on call that day, came to break my water in hopes that would send me into labor. I continued to be at 3+ when we got there.   Dr. Fagerland has such a calm vibe about him-it was perfect for our delivery.  After a little monitoring, Michael and I headed out to walk the halls for a bit.  It didn't do much except make my back really hurt.  I came back and took a hot shower to relax and that made the contractions increase a little but still not where they needed to be.  The nurse said we should get the pitocin (the same hormone that your body makes to have contractions) going since I was kind of on the fence of getting started on my own.  My body responded to it very quickly and the contractions became regular and building in strength.  I asked for some pain meds to take off the edge and then nurse checked me again and I was at a 6.  She said that we needed to get the epidural if we wanted it and I said get him in there!  I was progressing quickly so we wanted to get it taken care of.  So before we knew it...I was completely relaxed and she sent Michael to get some lunch because we were going to have a baby and didn't need him to pass out!  She checked me again about 20 minutes later and then said "we are going to have a baby!!"  So she calls Michael and tells him that he needs to get up here quickly.  I can only imagine his thoughts as he is running from the not-very-close cafeteria!  So after a little bit of "laboring down" which really means me laying there and letting the baby move down, she asked me to get ready to have a baby.  Before we knew it, we heard the nurse calling for extra nurses because she was going to deliver a baby.  The doctor was not in there!!  She is continuing to call for him and then we hear one of the nurses say "Dr. Fagerland is running across the parking lot-he will be here!"  Sure enough a few minutes later he swoops in and says we are going to have a baby.  Three pushes and about 3 minutes later we had a beautiful baby boy, Hutchinson Reyes Wagler.  The doctor gave Hutch a fist bump on the way out, the same thing he did to Finnean at every doctor's appointment as we left.  A great memory for both Michael and me.

The whole experience was so zen and amazing.  I would not change any of it one bit.  It was great to spend time with Michael and just connect.  We had some time after Hutch was born to be together and then had our first visitors.  It is a wonderful feeling to have so many people love us and our little Hutchinson.  We feel extremely blessed.
