Center Grove Apple Orchard

We went to the Apple Orchard a couple weeks ago and it had everything...animals, pumpkins, sweets, a corn pool and a bounce pillow. All of that was pretty neat but Finnean loved the goats and we spent the majority of our time "talking" to them!

Silly boy with a big belly. He was laughing at the goats!

Peek!!

YUCK!! A goat kiss?
We obviously did not encourage this behavior but Michael happened to catch Finnean showing some love to the goats...I told you he loved them!

Love this one. He was knee deep in corn! He loved it and kept saying "corn on the cob!!"

All smiles from the happy boy!

A day on the farm.

You could pick your own pumpkins from the patch or they had some already picked. We just checked them out and Finnean decided to make sure that all of them were right side up. This is definitely a Michael trait. He likes things in order! Earlier in the day we went to lunch and Finnean had a hamburger, he got ketchup on his hands and he freaked out and had to wipe them off, picked up his hamburger for other bite and got them ketchup-y again and had to wipe them again...that is definitely a Courtney trait. I hate having my hands messy!

Seriously...I am not sure that it gets much cuter than this.

Hi Mom!

What a smile!

He has the best laugh. It is so contagious. He just splashed water all over himself.

The Wranglers are his "I can get dirty and my Mommy won't care jeans."

Giraffe...

This boy is seriously the cutest thing I have ever seen. I love that he is so happy and I love how Jerry is chasing him and almost knocks him down on the first run. Now for a little back story before I tell you something that is sure to embarrass him someday. Finnean has been noticing his penis a lot lately...totally normal and age appropriate for the little guy. He always points to it when you change his diaper. So....now for the cutest little story ever...while running back and forth Finnean would go to the mirror and look at himself. He noticed the tail on the giraffe and said PENIS!!! Penis, penis, penis. I am not sure that Michael and I have laughed that hard in a while. We made sure to correct him and hope he gets it right when we are out and about trick or treating.

I had twins...well...for a day!

I was home with Finnean on Wednesday and the Blanchard's called and needed Grady to come and play with us! We had such a good time and boy is it a change of pace to have TWO little ones that are almost TWO! I even managed to get both of them to the doctor's office for Finnean's flu shot and then downtown to meet Michael for lunch. Stephanie got to join us as well. It was a beautiful day for these little cuties to be outside for a playing and a picnic!
****** Silly boy!

I love this picture. It really shows their height difference...little cuties!

All the boys playing hard.

Run! Run! Run!
Look at that tongue!

"Sharing!"

Grady: Okay, are you ready Finn?

Playing so hard.

Our beautiful city as the perfect backdrop for our picnic!

Still can't get enough of his profile.

Pretzels!

Mommas and boys.

SOOOO tired!

After nap we had paint time!
Grady wasn't quite sure what to do so Finnean showed him how to paint!

What is with the pout-y lip?

Dip it!!! They loved to DIP IT!

So serious.

What a fun day!!!!

Small Town Love

We had a big Friday. Finnean went to daycare, we picked him up, had supper and then headed to the Mustang Homecoming game. He loved the football game but really love the marching band and the Mustang Mascot! He had time to read a book before bed! Isn't he cute in those pjs!?
Saturday morning we headed up town to check out the Fall Festival. This is Finnean trying to pick out a few "baby pumpkins" as he calls them. Our porch is being taken over by them!!

The mums were beautiful!!!

He looks so serious here...he was eating this hot dog about 10:45 am. Apparently he was hungry!

Poppa giving Finnean a lift!

Finnean playing in the grass and I just love the courthouse behind him.

Walnuts!

Silly boy. He was having fun running and running. I think he caught his second wind at this point. We all enough wind that day-it made it chilly out but it was the perfect fall day!

Bonk!

This is probably one of my most favorite pictures ever (okay- of just Finnean and me)

He carried them, threw them, tried to eat them.

The perfect one.

Trying to carry all of them "baby pumpkins" at the same time!

COOKIES!
Having a little snack on our way out to the McGowen Farm for a Spider Egg Hunt (think Easter Egg Hunt) and a Hay Rack Ride!

Eyeing the eggs down.

This ones just makes me smile.

Checking to make sure there aren't any holes in the bucket :)

Little tiny Wrangler bottom. Thanks Lori for the super cute, perfect for hack-rack riding jeans!

Checking out the loot!
Notice the stocking hat...it got COLD in about 5 minutes. Finnean's little lips were shivering!
Family.

We were the first ones to go on a hay rack ride...so we got the whole thing to ourselves! We were worried that Finnean might be a little scared but he seemed to love it! It was absolutely beautiful. The sky was perfect, sun shining and rural Iowa made for great scenery!

Smelling the hay. I am thinking it was a little stinky!

Perfect.

Looking ahead. I love this one.

He didn't let go of his candy the whole time. The bummer is...he didn't even get to eat it because it was too hard!

I love, love, love this one.

Cheese!!!
He loves to show you his teeth!

Looks like pretty good form to me. He was working on his basketball skills after the McGowen Farm.

He is a bit possessive. We are trying to embrace that it is very age appropriate while still trying to teach the meaning of sharing!!! We got a book today at the library to help that along...I will keep you posted on how that goes!!!
