Flowers!

Michael called on Monday and asked if I wanted 3 flats of flowers. I said sure! Our daycare lady was sick that day so I was home with Finnean and it worked out perfect. We headed to Target to get some pots and soil...here are a few pictures from our adventures.
Before...

Helping Mommy pick out the perfect flowers for each pot. If you notice his little hand in the little black pot...he was putting little glass beads in that pot. He took each one (probably over 100 of them) from the blue pot and put it in the other. It kept him busy while I planted!!

Getting dirty.

Busy sorting the rocks.

I love this one. He really doesn't look too happy but I don't remember him complaining!

After!
The finished product AND I have two flats of flowers left. I need to get a little more soil!!!

This is a picture that we took on the way home from Bloomfield last weekend. We thought the sweeping clouds looked like rain. It was a beautiful site after an emotional visit for us in Bloomfield. We continue to make many trips to Bloomfield and to Hospice to see my mom. In my last update we thought that she had more time to live, that has turned out to not be the case. All of your thoughts and prayers help...keep praying for her to be peaceful. That is what we need right now.

random pictures!

Finnean loves to help cook! This is him "helping"

Veggies!!!
6.10.10
I can't remember if I mentioned but we went in on a share of farm with some of our friends. It is called Community Supported Agriculture or CSA. Basically we have someone else do our gardening and grow us organic fruits and vegetables and we pay them for it. We pick up our "basket" each Thursday and then split it up and then figure out how we are going to cook up our fresh produce! It is an adventure because you are just not sure what you are going to get but it should be fun. This is a photo of Finnean checking out what we got. He took each piece out and Michael told him what it was. He was so excited for each new thing. That is the goal...get him pumped about vegetables and to eat for the season. This same night I made a new dish full of our fresh veggies and I asked Finnean if he liked it. He shook his head yes and said "Mmmmm-humm!" Which made me feel like the best Mommy in the whole world! He liked my new dish!

Grandpa Steve came up to visit and Finnean LOVED showing him all of his toys!

First skinned knee :(
4.29.10
Finnean wasn't a big fan of this big event but he has got a few more since then...most recently a HUGE one last night. He doesn't hardly cry if I don't say anything :)
All of these pictures were taken on 4.28.10. I remember it being a beautiful sunny day and we got dirty!

Chalk Tattoo

I think he could be a little spokesbaby for Rose Art. Look at those chubby little feet!!

This was his first time with side walk chalk and LOVED it! he didn't even mind getting dirty!

Of course he didn't want to play with just one piece, so we got them all out. He did help put them away so that is a good thing!
As you can see they didn't go back in the container as neat as they came out :)

A few Finnean stories...

Tonight we were eating supper and this is what happened...
Finnean: Apple?
Me: Sorry buddy we don't have any apples, you want some watermelon?
Finnean: Apple?
Me: We don't have any apples, we can eat some other fruit.
***I went to the fridge and got out some pineapple to see if that would work...
Finnean: APPLE!
Me: Finnean do you love pineapple??
Finnean: I wuv apple!
***I apparently was not on the same page as he was! He wanted pineapple the whole time.

He can officially take off his clothes. the other night he was helping get ready for the bath and he took off his shirt and shorts!! I doesn't know how to take off his diaper yet...which might be a good thing!

He says "Beep Beeep!" and has to be one of the cutest things ever!

He gives Kisses and says MWA!

I put him to bed last night and he said "blanket" and then "dog" both things he sleeps with now. Just about melts my heart with all this new words. It is just so weird to hear his little tiny voice!

Fun Times with Finnean

Finnean and Kaia playing hard in the pools. On Memorial Day we turned the front yard into a our own little water park for the holiday. Finnean wasn't quite sure of the pools until Kaia got there and then decided he would get in! They splashed and splashed!

Little Guy!
He is so short that his little board shorts go down to the middle of his calves. I am a little worried about sun damage to his soft little skin so with the extra long shorts and his rash guard SPF 50 shirt he doesn't have a whole lot of skin exposed AND lots of sunscreen!

Finnean and Kaia looking cute as ever!

Splash, Splash, Splash!!!

What!

All that swimming wore out the kids.
They came inside and snacked on some fresh fruit and they could not have been cuter.

Finnean found out that he could take out all of our pots and pans to get IN the cupboard. Our pans are kind of heavy and he would grunt when he tried to move them around.

A badger!!
Finnean, Dad and I made a stop at the Science Center last week.

We hoped to get on the Channel 13 news but Finnean was not to sure of Ed Wilson.

Deep in thought.

Of course he refused to smile. BUT still pretty sweet.

Momma and Finnean

We had our first really big head bonk tonight. He smashed his head on the corner of the wall and of course I gasped and made him cry even more :(

Big Boy with a Big Bonk.
(check out the right side of his little forehead!)

My silly boys!

Finnean and his best bud Jerrrry.

Finnean was giving Jerrrrry lots of hugs tonight and then decided to check his tags and make sure he was all up to date!

More Bloomfield Pics

First Ear of Corn!

Dad showing Finnean how to do it!!

He looks like he could be a model for corn on the cob :)

Great Uncle Kevin, Great Grandpa Delbert, Finnean and Momma after breakfast in Bloomfield.

Finnean and Carter at dinner one night. They look so serious.

Carter looking like a big man.

What!!!!
Finnean shooting some basketball in the "hoop!" (one of his new fav words!)

Sweet boy.

Finnean and Grandma Lisa's beautiful "owers" per Finnean

He is going to be able to dunk it soon!!!

Laughing at Cousin Carter.
I love this silly face. He was watching Carter throw the ball up on the roof.

He was not a big fan of sharing the ball.

Finnean the stinker and Grandma Lisa.

First swing!
Finnean liked to take the ball off the tee a little more than he did trying to hit it but he has a pretty good swing!

Finnean's Stats

21.9 pounds-8% for weight UP from 3%!! Whoo hoo!
31 3/4 inches- he is growing and in the 45%
Head size still normal!

Dr. El-Dadah said everything looks great and Finnean was so brave during all of the tests. That was our last set of shots (except flu shots) until right before kindergarten! What a big boy!!!
