whew...a catch up.

In June we quick tripped to Bloomfield, I learned to bake a pie from the ladies of my church, we picnicked with friends, we got our art on at the DSM Arts Festival, we swam and we splashed in the city.  It was FUN!
We kicked off July with heading back to Bloomfield for the Fourth of July.  The Rodeo was the talk of the trip and the boys were a bit nervous at first but ended up loving it.  They got to see a real cowboy, Finnean's outfit was very well planned...by him.  The parade was awesome and we had a great time up on the square, enjoying all of the activities they had to offer-I think Finnean bounced in the bounce house for about an hour and a half!  Of course we played Legos and we hit the pool with my cousins and their families.  It was FUN!
We headed to Indianola to try and catch the hot air balloons go up in the evening.  We waited and waited, Finnean danced to pass the time but then we were rewarded for our patience.  Over 50 balloons blew across the sky and blew the boys' minds.  It was amazing and such a neat adventure!  We were lucky enough to snag the sun setting over the city on the way home.  We were up way past our bedtimes but it was totally worth it!
July was full of adventures.  We slept in, we swam some more, we nature walked and ate watermelon.  We visited Daddy at his office and checked out Union Park for the first time.  We napped, painted and kept our teeth clean.  We had FUN!

More adventures from July.
We splashed some more and got dirty in the sand box.  Soaked up sunsets and went to the zoo with our neighbor friends.  Finnean has been working on his "guns" and Hutchinson finally got a hair cut.  Oh and Hutch snuggled his Daddy.
It was FUN!

One day it just started pouring rain...while the sun was out!  That was a sign that we needed to SPLASH!  The boys loved it and so did I! :)

We wanted to snap some pictures of Hutchinson for his two year pictures, so we decided to take a walk downtown to have a nice backdrop.  The weather was amazing and we took Finnean's bike.  We walk/rode all around the new river walk.  If you haven't checked it out yet, you should!  It is a nice loop to walk/run and has some pretty amazing views of the city.  I love the pictures of the boys but really love the picture of the bridge with all my boys!
So far in August we have baked, explored Jester Park and took in a base game.  We shared our current favorite snack of pb and green apples and we have played in the garden hose.  The boys got in some good Daddy time and hit a wedding reception...see how handsome the look in their button down shirts.  Hutchinson resting on the steps kind of captures our house right now.  We are a bit tired but we are soaking up the last days of summer!

We just got home from Dubuque...here is sneak peek of our adventures!
